Reporting to the Manager of Cardiac Rehabilitation and according to established policies and procedures assesses clients entering the outpatient phases (Phase I, II monitored and Phase III, unmonitored) of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Adapts the exercise programs for individuals as appropriate; develops and conducts exercise sessions and evaluates the client's response to the programs. Assists with client and staff education. Collaborates with the manager and the staff nurses in integrating a holistic rehabilitation program for clients and their families and assists in the department program development and research. Functions as a resource person within the hospital and the community.
The level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Specialty/Exercise Science. ACSM Clinical Exercise Specialists certification required upon hire or within six (6) months of hire. A Master's degree in Exercise Physiology highly preferred. Six (6) to twelve (12) months previous experience in cardiac rehabilitation.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
