Hours: Full-Time Days with Rotating weekends and holidays Technologist Lead- Ultrasound Location- Berwyn, IL In this role, the Radiology Lead Technologist is responsible for the justification and utilization of all resources needed for the patient care delivery of radiologic procedures in their designated clinical section. Performs technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. Position SummaryPerforms imaging procedures in accordance with departmental guidelines to provide the physicians with the highest quality of diagnostic information.Explains procedures to the patient and answers any questions prior to the performance of the exam.Obtains patient history pertinent to exam.Produces high quality images and generates 3-D or reformatted images within proper time parameters. Adheres to procedure protocols at all times.Correctly identifies study with patient identification and proper orientation.Send and verify exams in PACS.Archives /network exams according to department protocols.Responds to problems, complaints, changes and regulatory requirements.Resolves section conflicts, advises management of conditions and operates with their approval, reports all incidents and deviations.Adheres to requirements and standards, implements changes as required by management.Serves on committees as requested, complies with Quality Assessment and Improvement Program criteria.Adheres to all LUHS and Radiology Department policies.Maintains communication with radiology management, staff, patients and other Medical Center staff to ensure cooperation and efficient, smooth operations.Promotes open lines of communication on all levels, seeks and supports staff feedback, participates in management planning and provides input.Provides information on services, personnel and procedures to other sections and departments as requested, usually through management channels.Maintains records and documentation for operations as required by management and regulatory agencies.Is aware of and promotes department image and cooperative relations.Communicates information necessary for patient care while maintaining patient confidentialityResolves problems and refers unusual circumstances to department manager.
